Sanity in the time of Trump

The impeachment trial

will move on

whether I watch,

or not;

whether I listen,

or not.

I opt for

‘or not.’

And so,

I have….

colored,

listened to 70s music,

written,

run errands,

spent time with people I love,

wandered stores,

looked at photo albums,

gone out to eat,

read,

focused on creativity,

gotten a massage,

polished my nails,

reached out to former students,

laughed,

added to my bullet journal,

organized,

listened to spa music,

texted friends,

taken deep breaths.

I have also….

contacted government officials,

read updates from friends and journalists,

signed petitions,

registered voters,

attended political meetings,

focused on local politics,
